As they say, variety is the spice of life, and with these easy to grow chili plants, you not only get variety, but lots of spice too! While tomatoes are generally considered a major fixture in any garden, many gardeners find some peppers easier and require little maintenance.Whether you have a huge garden, come here to visit or just a few containers, these five pepper plants are not only easy to grow, but also delicious and can be added to almost any food! The following content also has some reference value for raised garden beds

1.Bell Pepper (Capsicum)

Bell peppers are one of the most versatile and available peppers because of their sweet and mild taste. Bell peppers are also easy to grow and maintain, and don't require any special care other than regular watering and plenty of sunlight.

Bell peppers thrive in moist soil, so water them 1 to 2 inches a week. If the stems and peppers are soft and sticky, you know you've watered them too much.

Phosphorus, magnesium, and calcium are used when fertilizing bell peppers, so use organic fertilizer or azotite to provide these nutrients.

A small amount of Epsom salt (high in magnesium) is also a good fertilizer for bell peppers.

The unique thing about bell peppers is that the more ripe they are, the sweeter they taste, and you have complete control over your taste. As the pepper ages, it changes from green to red, yellow, or orange. Some even turn purple! However, it can take up to 100 days for peppers to turn red, so be patient. Once you're ready to pick the bell pepper, don't pull it. Use scissors or trimmers to cut it off the stem so it doesn't damage the plant.

2.Banana Pepper (red pepper)

Banana peppers and bell peppers are grown in exactly the same way. They come in many varieties, from spicy to sweet. Spicy ones can be as hot as habanero peppers, so don't bite into them too much unless you dare!

Like bell peppers, banana peppers need 1 to 2 inches of water and plenty of sunlight per week.

Banana peppers require fertilizer rich in phosphorus, magnesium and calcium.

If you are not familiar with choosing fertilizers, try a 5-10-10 solution (nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium).

Like most peppers, banana peppers change color, from green to yellow to red, with yellow being the best time to pick. A good rule to keep in mind is that bell peppers get sweeter as they mature, while chili peppers get spicier.

3.Jalapeno peppers

Because jalapenos grow for a long time, taking up to 120 days to produce, you can start growing them indoors or buy plants that are already grown.

Like other pepper plants, jalapeno peppers are no exception and need plenty of sunlight and 1 to 2 inches of water per week, so try to keep the soil moist during hot weather.

Use a high nitrogen and low phosphorus fertilizer during the vegetative stage of the plant and a low nitrogen and high phosphorus fertilizer when the plant is flowering.

Jalapenos change from green to red over time, but most people pick them when they are dark green.

After harvesting, make sure not to touch your eyes or mouth and wash your hands immediately!

4.Tabasco pepper (chili)

Tabasco peppers are famous for their use in Tabasco sauce. On the Scoville Spiciness Scale, which measures the heat of chili peppers, Tabasco peppers are rated between 30,000 and 50,000 (jalapeno peppers are rated between 3,500 and 10,000). As Tabasco peppers mature, they change from yellow, green, and orange to red, reaching full ripeness at red, and are usually picked at this time. Make sure to plant these peppers every other day with plenty of sun and moisture. When harvesting, use a trimmer and wear gloves!

5.Mariachi band Pepper

Mariachi pepper is a new breed in the chili world, made from hybrid bread. They are relatively mild on the spiciness scale (about 500 on the Scoville scale) and produce peppers that are extremely colorful, ranging from light creamy yellow to bright red. As mariachi peppers grow in popularity, more gardeners are realizing how easy it is to grow and maintain them. Follow the same recipe you used for the other four peppers, and you'll also be as golden as a Mexican stray.
